1) Free Medical Clinic was started for the residents of five Worli B.D.D Chawls which have been adopted
by our Rotary Club. The Clinic is open thrice a week for two hours in the afternoon. Two of our Inner
Wheel Doctor Members look after the Clinic and twice a week a paid Dr. Mrs Padma Vora attends the
Clinic.Thanks to Mrs Ushaben Shah who helps us in the Clinic and Mrs Pritamchand Valia for their
monthly contribution of Rs.200/- for medicines.
2) English Classes started to help the students of Worli B.D.D Chawls to coach them up in conversational
English with the help of a paid teacher.In all 20 students attended the class, a nominal fees were
charged.
3) Distribution of Kantans: In response to Sanjivani Trusts appeal for donation to a deserving cause of
covering the shivering footpath dwellers at night, we collected donation from our Members and one of
our member Mrs Garg donated Kantans.
4) Orthopaedic Children’s Hospital: In celebration of their Silver Jubilee Year in 1975, they had issued
coupon books of Rs.5/- and Rs.2/- which were to be sold for Fund raising. We helped this very deserving
cause by selling coupons and collected about Rs.1500/-.
5) Distribution of Toys in K.E.M Hospital: To mark the International Inner Wheel Day 1.e 10 th January
1976, we had decided to earmark Rs.501/- to a deserving cause. After very careful consideration, we all
agreed to donate Toys in the surgical ward of the Pediatric Section of the K.E.M Hospital. This function
of Toys Donation was organised by the Dr.in charge Dr R.K. Gandhi on 14 th April. It was a real sight to
behold the smiling and excited faces of children thrilled woth array of Toys.
