1) Regularly visited and sponsored lunch at the Shephards Widow Home. The inmates of the home were
taken to Mount Mary Fair. A steel cupboard was donated by IPP Jayshree Sanghvi.
2) Children of Ashadan were also taken to Mount Mary Fair.
3) At D K Foman School 5 students Fees, Uniform and Books were sponsored. Distributed 12 dozen
notebooks at concessional rates.
4) Sponsored Anand Mela and a Birthday Party for street children organised by Vatsalya
5) Donated 15 wrist watches for visually handicapped people at NAB.
6) This year we had decided to have fellowship on a very big scale. Keeping this in mind we invited 6
Clubs, District dignitaries and exchange students ion the month of August for Rakhi Making and Aarti
Thali Competition.
7) We fulfilled our duty of Polio Immunization Campaign which was taken very seriously by Rotary
International and Inner Wheel as well. At Chunabhatti and Antop Hill, with the help of Dr. Mrs Saroj
Mathur and Dr Sushma Tulpule. 8000 children were immunized.
8) We undertook the following projects at Vansda during the year 1995-96, Plantation of 900 Mango
Trees to improve the income of the farmers and environment of the ares. To help them improve the
yield we sponsored a specialist in Organic Farming and Vermiculture to advice the farmers. One such
advisor is permanently sponsored by our club member Nafisa Khorakiwala who advices all the farmers,
of all the 30 villages in Vansda District.
9) We sponsored the construction of 14 check dams on different places for the conservation of
water.This water was used by the Farmers for cultivation, drinking and domestic purpose. A community
hall was constructed in ZUJ. This Community Hall will be used by tribals for social and religious purpose.
10) One Encyclopedia was donated to Vansda High School.
11) 2 Harmonium were donated to 2 different villages for devotional purpose.
12) Community marriage for 81 tribal people was sponsored by our club.
13) We sponsored a medical camp at Khambali Village where 12 Doctors examined and treated 500
patients. Our Vice District Chairman Dr Mrs Vinodini Pradhan and her husband Dr Shashikant Pradhan
also helped to examine the patients as well.
