Our long awaited trip to our integrated village finally happened! Ismatben's 173rd library was set up in our school at Pallipada Girls, a little about the school.. The principal Mr Suresh Gavit has worked miracles in a year and a half. These kids knew the rudiments of reading and maths..and today they are fluent! One girl, Darshana, he proudly claimed was doing 10th std maths while still in the 8th grade.. Pallavi, with a smiling demeanor, taught all the children poems and speeches about our nation. She is working there without any pay, just for the love of children We were greeted with balloons and confetti They recited speeches and poems for us 35 to 40 eager faces then awaited the opening of the much wanted library Ismatben had curated the books so thoughtfully, so that it was a mix of marathi and English with something for all grades! You can see them all engrossed in the pictures! She is on a roll! Even as we were driving back home, she kept receiving calls asking for libraries to be set up in schools and gardens!
